Pharrell, G-Star Raw Create Denim Made From Recycled Ocean Plastic

Despite his new fondness of the Canadian Mountie look, Pharrell has been busy with his textile company, Bionic Yarn. His new venture is with G-Star, a long term partnership created to produce textiles out of recycled fabrics. This is not their first foray into collaborations, Bionic Yarn previously worked on a capsule collection with Moncler.

The concept behind the new agreement is turn plastic debris from the ocean into commercially viable products. G-Star will be incorporating Bionic Yarn products into all its future product lines. Topshop are another company to have recently used the company. They incorporated it into a recycled denim line in 2010.

Great to see people like Pharrell and Will.I.Am doing the green thing in fashion.
